Welcome to 3rd Grade!
Dear Families,
Welcome to Third Grade! We are very excited to learn with you and your child this year. We have put together some information that we feel will be helpful to ensure a better understanding of our classroom procedures and other general school policies for you. Below are some hints for making your child’s transition into 3rd grade successful.
We are looking forward to working together with you and your child this year. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send us an email, a note, or leave a message at the office with Mrs. Lord. We will always try to respond in a timely manner. Again, welcome and we are going to have a wonderful year together!
Respectfully,
Mary Wever & Stephanie Krumbach

Welcome to Third Grade! We are very excited to learn with you and your child this year. We have put together some information that we feel will be helpful to ensure a better understanding of our classroom procedures and other general school policies for you. Below are some hints for making your child’s transition into 3rd grade successful.
- Please visit our classroom website and save it to your “Favorites”. Your child and you will use it almost daily. www.weverworld.weebly.com This website is for both 3rd grade classes.
- Your child knowing his/her daily transportation plans to and from school is very important. If your child is a “walker”, rehearsing the route would make sure he/she knows the way. Helping your child memorize his/her bus number will assure a safe ride home. If transportation plans change, please let us know as soon as possible.
- Please provide an appropriate sized backpack labeled with your child’s name for him/her to bring to school EVERY DAY.
- Please have your child dress appropriately for the changing weather here in Michigan.
- Emphasize that “home” toys stay at home and school objects stay at school (this includes technology).
- Please be sure that your child eats a good breakfast every day and gets plenty of rest so he/she can master curriculum objectives with the least amount of trouble.
- Please remember to inform us of any changes (such as a family move or changes in your child’s daily transportation routine). These kinds of changes affect behaviors in the classroom. Also, it is important for me to get any new contact information that may change as well.

Volunteer Background Form
We love to have parents and volunteers go with us on field trips! However, there are very few 3rd grade parents who have gone through the process of filling out and turning in the district's Background Check form. This is very important to do if you plan to volunteer in the school and/or go on field trips with our classes. To take care of the necessary paperwork, please follow these directions:
1. Click on the Background Check Form button below
2. Print the form
3. Fill out the front and back of the form (pages 2-3). Make sure to sign it.
4. Return the form to the school office with a copy of your driver's license or ID card (Mrs. Lord can make a copy for you in the office if you do not have access to a printer or copier).
The copy of your driver's license and the form must be turned in together.
If you plan to go with us to the Big Zoo Lesson in December, you must have a Background Check done before you can join us on the trip. This is true for all field trips and volunteer opportunities in the school. Thank you for understanding. This is done for the safety and security of ALL our students. This background check will be good for 2 years. If you are not sure if you have completed this form, please contact Mrs. Lord in the office.
